Power Letter: The power of doing less

Hey!

Here’s your by-weekly 4 minute read to kick-start your week!

A quote that inspired me:

“Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” — Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

“I love this quote because it challenges the outdated belief that success is just about grinding harder. We’ve been conditioned to think that working more hours automatically leads to better results, but that’s a trap. True high performers don’t just put in more effort; they make smarter choices. It’s not about how much you do, but whether what you do actually moves the needle.”

A life hack:

Ever feel like you’re running full speed but still not getting where you want to be? The problem isn’t effort, it’s direction. Success isn’t about doing more, it’s about doing the right things in the right way. Instead of piling on more tasks, focus on what actually drives results. Here’s how:

Elimination > Optimization
Stop trying to improve what doesn’t work. Cut it. If a strategy, habit, or even relationship isn’t moving you forward, remove it entirely instead of tweaking it endlessly.

Deep Connection > Shallow Networking
A thousand LinkedIn connections mean nothing if you’re not building real relationships. Invest in the few who truly challenge and elevate you.

Singular Focus > Multitasking
Multitasking is a myth. True momentum comes from going all-in on one priority at a time. Ask yourself: What’s the ONE thing that will make the biggest impact today? Do that first.

Clarity > Complexity
If you need a spreadsheet to track your priorities, you have too many. Simplicity is power. The clearer your focus, the faster your execution.

The Journey > The End Goal
The people who win aren’t just obsessed with the destination, they love the process. Mastery isn’t about having everything but about refining the right things.

I once watched a karate champion win gold with just three perfected moves rather than fifty mediocre ones. The same principle applies everywhere: strip away the distractions, and your true power emerges.

What’s on my mind:

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how our culture glorifies more. More success, more achievements, more commitments. We wear “busy” like a badge of honor, as if being overwhelmed is proof that we’re doing something right. But when I look at the most extraordinary people I know, they aren’t running in a million directions. They are laser-focused on the essentials.

For me, this realization hit hard when I found myself constantly saying yes, to projects, meetings, opportunities, until my calendar was packed, my energy was drained, and I wasn’t even enjoying the things I had worked so hard to create. That’s when I realized: Success isn’t about adding more. It’s about mastering the art of subtraction.

So, I made a shift. I started saying no more often.
– No to unnecessary meetings that could be an email
– No to social obligations that left me drained instead of energized
– No to overcomplicating my goals when simplicity drives better results

And you know what happened?

– I got my time back
– I started making faster, more impactful decisions
– I felt a renewed sense of focus, energy, and clarity

High performance isn’t about squeezing more into your day. It’s about making sure what’s in your day actually matters.

So, let me ask you: What’s one thing you can remove from your life this week to gain back more clarity, balance, and power?

Enjoy your week!
